An End-of-Year Strategic Salutation
We made it. We’re at the end of another year again.
Is it just me, or do you also feel like 2022 FLEW by?
I’ve felt like 2022 was an absolute whirlwind of so many incredible new relationships and opportunities. I am so thankful for them and am looking forward to fostering them even more in the coming year.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably spent the past few weeks making personal and professional resolutions while also trying to finish the year well.
At the end of every year, my Co-Owner, Ali, and I sit down and figure out what we want to accomplish in the new year through our business.
We set attainable goals and come up with tangible ways to see them through (we love a good growth strategy).
But before any of that happens, we make time to practice reflection.
We look back at where we have been, acknowledge where we are, and determine how to get where we would like to be.
We are strong advocates for awareness and intentionality in everything we do. To us, that’s a key component of stewardship. So, to kick off our planning every year, we have a set of questions we answer every year to inspire deeper thought and steer our strategic planning.
I wanted to share these questions with you for your end-of-year planning and preparation to hopefully support you in your goals and aspirations for the year ahead.
What are your highs and lows of the year?
What was the best project we delivered?
What was the most challenging project for our team to work on?
What is the biggest lesson learned?
What is our company’s biggest win?
What is our company’s biggest loss?
What have you loved most about this year?
What is our team good at?
What is our team bad at?
What does our world / target audience need?
Does the work we're doing make the world a more garden-like place?
What are the open doors in and opportunities for our business in the year ahead?
What is God blessing?
What are people who know you saying about our business?
What’s the spirit stirring in your heart?
We crafted these questions based off of questions John Mark Comer poses in one of our favorite books, Garden City. It’s a great read on work, rest and faith.
If you use these questions for your own time of reflection, we would love to hear from you. We hope meditating on these questions help you learn about yourself, your business, and create smart goals. Shoot us an email at hello@allaurcreative.com or find us on social media at @allaurcreative.
